The System Cleanup F/M (SMF993) program has a new entry under the Inventory Control Tab for Keep Usage and Hits. The number of months kept must be at least the number of months that completed cost layers are kept. The System Cleanup F/M record had three new fields added for Usage and Hits. This option removes the records from ICHITS and ICUSED.
A new tab for General Ledger was added to System Cleanup F/M (SMF993). You can specify the number of months to retain the General Ledger budget and ending balances. The system also displays the last run number removed and the date removed through.
In GL Static F/M, the periods to keep value has added validation to keep the user from entering a period value that (when translated into a month’s value) would violate the System Cleanup rule for months, and alerts the user if they try to violate that rule (issuing a message that they must first change the System Cleanup value). In order to calculate the number of months based on the period, validation has been added to alert the user if the end of period date needed (to perform valid calculations) does not exist in the Period Ending Dates files.
Banking in the System Management module has been enhanced to include bank reconciliation history processing. The 9.0 release of FACTS includes a new Bank Reconciliation History Entry (SME598) program and additional reporting capabilities in the new Bank Reconciliation Report (SMR590). This enhancement allows the printing for a current reconciliation and shows cleared and current transactions as well as a recap to allow balancing bank statements to the GL controlling account. The history entry allows viewing and/or creating of records of past reconciliations.
The Bank Reconciliation Report shows cleared checks and deposits and outstanding checks and deposits. Most companies are use this from current period balancing, prior period analysis, and research perspectives. A Reconciliation Summary is also printed. The Reconciliation Summary can be run for an in-process reconciliation and one that has been updated in the past. When running the report for a past statement, the bank statement ending date is validated against the reconciliation history file.
The Bank Reconciliation History Entry program is available to view, create and maintain historical reconciliations. You can maintain a historical account of each bank's reconciliations using the beginning and ending balances for the statement, as well as the reconciliation date. This information is used to print the Bank Reconciliation Report (SMR590).
Historical bank reconciliations are typically required by auditors during the course of a Financial Statement Audit or Review.
The Company Control F/M program now has a field for the company's currency code. This code is used when publishing XML only, and does not change the prompts throughout FACTS, nor does it imply that FACTS is capable of handling multiple currencies, tracking conversion rates, etc.
Additionally these properties were added to the csys object.
'comp_currency$ (companies' currency code - defaults to USD if not set)
'g0 and 'gl_len (length of the GL number)
'h0$ and 'gl_mask$ (GL print mask)
'k0 and 'gl_dept_pos (position of the department in the GL number)
'l0 and 'gl_dept_len (length of the department)
'd0 and 'gl_branch_pos (position of the branch in the GL number)
